Assistant Professor in Food and Nutrition

Meredith College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position as Assistant Professor in Foods and Nutrition. Position begins January 1, 2020 (preferred) or August 1, 2020.

Teaching responsibilities include on-campus undergraduate and graduate courses in Food and Nutrition.  Expertise to teach a variety of food and nutrition courses at UG and Grad levels, expertise to teach Nutrition & Food Policy, Biostatistics in NUT Science, and upper level Medical Nutrition Therapy strongly preferred. Active involvement within department, college, and student advising; scholarship and service to the profession expected.

Earned Ph.D. degree required in food, nutrition, dietetics, or closely related field. Registered Dietitian required. Demonstrated or potential for excellence in undergraduate & graduate teaching; experience with on-line instruction desirable. (If the applicant will be ABD at the start date, please do not apply).

The Department of Nutrition, Health and Human Performance is in the School of Education, Health and Human Sciences, majors & minors in Nutrition in Dietetics (DPD accredited program) and Food Systems & Management, Exercise & Sports Science, licensure in Physical Education and an extensive physical education activity service program, accredited Dietetic Internship program and M.S. degree in Nutrition with tracks in Dietetics (DPD accredited program) and Food & Nutrition Studies.
