Serve as departmental assistant to the Department of Psychology and Social Work. Perform a variety of office support and/or administrative duties for the department head and PSY/SWK faculty/staff.

- Provide administrative support to the department head and Psychology and Social Work faculty/staff.
- Support office management including filing, running errands, updating bulletin boards, completing schedules for classes, maintaining, and/or creating regular department reports & data, scanning or copying documents, preparing mailings and conducting internet searches.
- Anticipating needs, ordering and maintaining supplies and equipment for the department.
- Responsible for preparing budget requests including petty cash, invoices, purchase orders, check requests, credit card transactions, and monitoring and reconciling the department budget.
- Seek and complete on-campus training in accessible document design
- Seek and complete on-campus training in emerging computer technologies required for completing routine tasks in consultation with the department head.
- Assist Department of PSY/SWK in updating common departmental documents and manuals to meet ADA compliance standards.
- Assist individual faculty in identifying and converting instructional documents to ADA compliant formats.
- Monitor the safety and condition of department facilities and report any needed maintenance or repair. Operations may be run out of multiple college buildings.
- Ensure classrooms and venues are set up appropriately for course activities and events as designated by the department head and/or department faculty.
- Schedule, coordinate, and set-up arrangements for meetings, conferences, travel, campus visitors, and special events for the PSY/SWK department.
- Coordinate work and documentation among administrative staff in the program areas overseen by the department.
- Assist with accreditation preparation and site visits, including gathering of data, preparation of documents, and site visit logistics.
- Oversee updates and revisions to department web presence.
- Recruit/hire/train/supervise student workers.
- Provide back-up support for the School of Education, Health and Human Sciences team of assistants.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as needed.

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Two years of related experience required.
- Evidence of excellent communication skills, initiative, maturity, professionalism and customer-service attitude toward students, employees and the public. Must be able to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with supervisor, coworkers, customers and others.
- Excellent organizational ability, time management and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both spoken and written English.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Google Docs, and Google Sheets software.
- Capacity and willingness to master new software platforms specifically related to College usage
- Ability and willingness to collaborate with faculty and staff in the conversion of course materials to ADA compliant formats
- Ability to manage tasks and prioritize workload independently within an educational environment
- Ability to maintain progress toward goals in the midst of interruptions
- Provide own vehicle for running errands for the College.
- Be able to lift a minimum of 20 lbs.
- Experience in an academic setting is preferred.
